All About Aaliyah Lewis-Powlette

I am an upcoming makeup and special effects artist. My journey began as a teenager with a developing interest in makeup. As my interests grew, I enrolled on a level 2 & 3 beauty therapy course to build my skills in facials, massage, makeup, manicure, pedicure, waxing and eyelash & eyebrow tinting. During the pandemic my passion and skills flourished as I experimented with new makeup styles and techniques to create Editorial and Avant Garde makeup looks; which solidified my goal to further pursue a career as a makeup artist, encouraging me to enrol on a Hair, Makeup & Prosthetics for Production course at University Centre Weston. Over the past 2 years, I have also studied masterclasses to improve my abilities and obtain a more diverse skillset. Additionally, I completed a year of Business Studies. It’s a subject I excel at and one I can apply to my career as I want to grow my own business in the future.

My mission is to provide a great quality service to clients so that they can get the best production value. To do this I will use various techniques and equipment to ensure I can provide this service. I work well on team projects and I’m comfortable working under pressure and taking on leadership roles when necessary. ​

I created ‘Ardent Aali’ because being ardent is to acknowledge one’s passion and devotion which I translate to my work every time. My main areas of expertise are in Halloween makeup, casualty simulations, and makeup for Fashion & TV. Recent Experiences

I was a makeup artist for In Your Dreams during Glastonbury at the Pop-Up Hotel 2022. I did day makeup and festival makeup on clients. I was also part of a team of make-up artists chosen for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. My role involved assisting with styling wigs, hair preparation, as well as doing the makeup on performers and presenters.
